This year will be the 3rd year Buddy the Elf (our Elf on the Shelf) has visited our house. With the stores already setting out their Christmas trees, our 4 year old has already started talking about 'what Buddy will be up to' this year! Last year it was pretty common for me at 9pm to be looking for some elf ideas, or running to the store to get something to go with his nightly activity - so I figured this year I'd try and map out a plan ahead of time to make it less hassle and more fun :) - I saw a calendar floating around on Pinterest and Facebook, but it had a few we've already done, and some that might just be a little TOO tempting for Tanner to try and touch (because remember, if Buddy the elf gets touched his magical powers are damaged and he can't make it back to the North Pole that night to report to Santa) Most of the time Tanner is on patrol to make sure no one damages Buddy's powers, but every now and then his desire to see Buddy come to life gets the best of him! ;)
So here is the calendar I have set up for the month - of course some may change depending on behavior and such (I do recall last year Buddy having to bring a reminder note that he IS watching for Santa) - but I did my best to keep it items we will have around the house, different from last year, and also to make sure on the weekends when Tanner will be around Buddy a lot, that Buddy and his magical powers will be safely out of reach :)
